Meet Our Teachers

 Megan Rakeepile
  A passionate artist born and raised in Buffalo NY, Megan Rakeepile has studied various styles of dance for 24 years. She has professional training in tap, jazz, West African, ballet and many styles of modern dance. Megan started her dance training at Miss Barbara School of Dance as a competitive dancer from 1992-2006. She participated with the studio in Orlando, FL for Disney performances in 2000 and 2001. Megan trained with Buffalo City Ballet from 1998-2007 and graduated for Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts with a dance degree in 2008. She set her sights on Toronto to dance professionally. Megan entered into the professional training program (PTP) at Ballet Creole from 2008-2010. She went back to the States to dance with Garth Fagan Dance Co. from 2010-2011.Ultimately, Megan found her passion with the youth and community back home and started a nonprofit organization for the arts and artist called Mahatma Moto Collective (Step Together Collective) in August 2012. She and her husband, Bokgabane, started their own performing arts company, MDASP CULTURE, in May 2012. Megan still works as a freelance dancer and does guest performances with other artist such as singer/song writer, Drea DNur, as well as other dance companies like Future Pointe Dance in Rochester NY.
Linda Heitman-Pew
Miss Linda is here from the 716 Dance Lab where she has been teaching jazz, musical theatre, and combo (tap, ballet and gymnastics) for the past two years. She loves teaching children and is currently pursuing certification with Dance Masters of America and is an online student at NYU’s Tisch School of Performing Arts. When Miss Linda is not celebrating the arts, she’s helping kids and grown-ups as a Registered Dental Hygienist..
